NACDS Foundation Scholarship Program: Supporting Innovation & Diversity in Pharmacy Education

All scholarship awards provided by the NACDS Foundation are merit-based, having undergone a rigorous, competitive review process. Within this scholarship grant system, we have two tracks; one with focus on innovation in patient care and pharmacy practice and the other aimed at promoting diversity by fostering support and education in under-represented populations.

The number and amount of the awards may vary in a given year depending on the amount raised through the generosity of our benefactors. Approximately five-six grants are awarded for curricular innovation, and two for excellence in supporting diversity in education.

  3. foster and support education in under-represented populations.

Innovative and contemporary services and practices of interest for these scholarship awards, include, but are not limited to the following:

The Foundation is interested in applications focusing on recruitment and retention of current pharmacy school students from diverse backgrounds as well as promoting diversity among college and post-secondary students who have expressed interest in the healthcare professions. Schools demonstrating measurable results from an active, diversity program will be most highly considered for the diversity-focused merit-based awards.

Scholarship applications should include a strong faculty lead and impact students through education and/or community-based engagement. Only projects that involve substantial student engagement will be considered. To apply for funding, applicants must complete an NACDS Foundation scholarship application detailing their proposed project highlighting its purpose, timeline and budget.
