About the Conference

Robert Kolodner, White House czar for Health Information Technology (HIT) and Microsoft's James Mault, Director of New Products and Business Development, will headline and share their insights at one of the most forward thinking pharmacy oriented conferences on healthcare HIT, Electronic Medical Records systems development and its application to community pharmacy patient care.

Advances in health information technology, new electronic prescribing regulations and increased adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) are changing the landscape of pharmacy provided patient services.  At this must-attend conference, experts from the pharmacy industry will address the use of technology in electronic prescribing, medication therapy management, patient education programs, comprehensive medication reviews and other initiatives.  The conference, hosted by the NACDS Foundation and eHealth Initiative, will explore what’s driving health IT development in both the public and private sectors, provide background on the issues that affect stakeholder attitudes toward health IT, and insight into challenges facing different health IT users. It will also explore new and innovative approaches for using personal health records (PHRs), explore the potential benefits that pharmacy can gain by becoming engaged, present clear next steps for pharmacy to take to continue the advancement of health information technology, and much more.

Attendees should include pharmacy executives from the technology and information services departments, pharmacy owners and operators, healthcare information technology leaders, policymakers, and those interested in what’s driving health IT development in the public and private sectors.

Continuing Pharmacy Education Information

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Statements of continuing pharmacy education credit may be printed online by visiting the NACDS Foundation's CE Center (hyperlink) and completing an evaluation form for each session attended.
