About the Conference
Pharmacy-based influenza
immunizations have become a routine part of daily pharmacy practice. With over
25,000 pharmacists trained in the United States to administer immunizations and
a recent survey by the American Medical Association indicating support of this
practice among physicians, momentum for pharmacists to offer this valuable
patient service is steadily increasing.
However, pharmacists are
challenged to keep this momentum growing and must look to expanding
pharmacy-based immunization services beyond influenza. In order to increase
patient access and improve healthcare quality, pharmacists must work with all
stakeholders to identify opportunities to achieve their patient care goals.
This educational conference, offered by the NACDS Foundation (NACDSF), American Pharmacists Association (APhA), and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) will help attendees gain an understanding of the
current adult immunization practice, how health plans and healthcare payers
evaluate coverage for adult immunizations, processes for implementing
pharmacy-based immunizations, and immunization coverage under Medicare Part B
vs. Part D. The conference will also explore the practices and successes of
established pharmacy-based immunization programs.
Who Should Attend?
Attendees should include
pharmacy
operators, pharmacy clinical coordinators, pharmacy educators, managed care
pharmacists, managed care representatives, pharmacy benefit manager
representatives, and managed care organization staff responsible for
immunization programs.
