COMMUNITY PHARMACY FACULTY SCHOLARS


The NACDS Foundation Faculty Scholars Program is a collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy designed to mentor junior faculty at schools and colleges of pharmacy across the US through the design, conduct and evaluation of meaningful community pharmacy-based patient care research. The initiative also seeks to connect the participating Scholars with experts in the fields of community pharmacy and research.

Program Features:
  • Conducting Research
    • Scholars will design a research project with research teams and mentoring from successful community-based researchers
    • Scholars will be eligible for a $2,500 starter grant to conduct and evaluate a patient-focused research project in community pharmacy practice
  • Learning
    • Web-based lectures given by research experts and community pharmacy leaders
    • Frequent interaction with research mentors and fellow scholars through conference calls and online discussion as well as individual mentoring
  • Innovations in Patient Care
    • Participants will attend the 2013 NACDS Total Store Expo at no cost where they will learn about patient care initiatives from leaders in community pharmacy
    • Lectures and discussions are led by thought leaders in community pharmacy
